Arm Lift (Brachioplasty)
Arm Lift surgery, also known as a brachioplasty, is a popular body contouring procedure Dr. Lesesne performs in his New York City office. Fluctuations in weight, growing older, and genetics can cause your upper arms to have a drooping, sagging appearance. This is a condition that cannot be corrected through exercise. Arm lift surgery provides many benefits for patients who suffer from large amounts of excess skin under the arms.
Benefits of Arm lift (brachioplasty) surgery include:
- Reduction of excess sagging skin that droops under the arms
- Tightens and smoothes the underlying supportive tissue that defines the shape of the upper arm
- Reduces localized pockets of fat in the upper arm region
The Technique and Recovery
Dr. Lesesne has performed hundreds of arm lift, (brachioplasty) procedures in his New York City surgical facility. Dr. Lesesne utilizes his extensive experience to create a unique approach in contouring the upper arms. We believe that the traditional brachioplasty can be avoided in many cases by using a small 1.5mm cannula, using a technique that preserves sensation and allows for a rapid recovery. Dr. Lesesne’s method removes the fat over the muscle, which enhances the natural outline of the triceps and biceps brachii muscles, giving a more youthful, toned arm. Not only will your arms look better but there will be less chafing, less hanging skin, less wiggling skin upon movement and clothing will fit better.
Arm lift surgery is performed in our Park Avenue surgical suite in New York City, and can be done under local anesthesia or with IV sedation administered by our board certified anesthesiologist. This procedure takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours of surgery time. Depending on volume, bruising can last from 1-8 days after surgery. Many patients return to work and regular activities 2-8 days after their procedure. The incision will be approximately 1.5mm and no sutures are required. Oral and topical antibiotics are given to reduce the risk of infection.
