Post Pregnancy Rejuvenation

Pregnancy significantly changes the external and internal anatomy of a woman’s body. These changes not only involve the visible anatomy, i.e., stretching the abdominal skin, the umbilicus, fibrous ligaments, etc, but it also causes scarring under the abdomen and separation of the abdominal muscles. Post pregnancy rejuvenation addresses the external and internal changes that have occurred by repairing the abdomen leaving you with a flat and more sculpted stomach.

For patients requiring maximum correction, a full abdominoplasty may be the best procedure for you. In this procedure, Dr. Lesesne will make a low incision your abdomen from hipbone to hipbone. The incision is made along the pubic area and can be easily concealed. Once the incision is made, Dr. Lesesne can manipulate and contour the skin, tissue, and muscle as needed. Drainage tubes may be placed under your skin and these will be removed in a few days as Dr. Lesesne sees fit.

The down time for a full or complete abdominoplasty is 10-14 days.

A mini-tummy tuck is an abdominal plastic surgery procedure that removes excess sagging skin of the lower stomach and a shorter scar than a full abdominoplasty procedure. Once the excess skin is removed, the lower abdomen and love handle areas can be reshaped and contouring to give you your old waist back by flattening your stomach. The belly button is not changed during a mini-tummy tuck, but an abdominal muscle repair for split rectus muscles (diastasis rectii) can be performed through a mini tummy tuck incision, although the procedure is called a "mini" tummy tuck, it is still a difficult procedure and requires post operative care.

Fat-removal procedures such as liposuction can be used in conjunction with full or mini abdominoplasty procedures to further contour the area.
