Out of Town Patients
Dr. Lesesne’s reputation has resulted in a significant number of patients who travel to New York City and London to be treated by him. We welcome all patients and want to reassure you that your visit will be as comfortable and convenient as possible. Because New York and London are popular destinations, it provides a reasonable explanation for your time away. Depending on which procedure you have performed, people may attribute your refreshed appearance to your “vacation” rather than realizing you’ve had plastic surgery. To accommodate our out of town and visiting patients, we offer a variety of concierge services to make your surgical experience as seamless as possible. Contact Dr. Lesesne’s Patient Coordinator, Diane Miller, by phone 212-570-6318 or email email@example.com to schedule your consultation or to answer any questions you may have.
Online consultations are a great option for those who will be traveling to New York or London for their surgery. If you will be scheduling your consultation and surgery within a few days of each other, it is essential that we have as much information about you as possible in advance.
Please take the following steps when participating in an online consultation:
Email a set of digital photos to firstname.lastname@example.org for a clinical assessment. We require a series of 5-6 photos and a list of your problems and concerns. All face and body photos should be taken with the following profile and angle specifications: frontal view, right profile, 3/4 angle right profile, left profile, 3/4 angle left profile, nose base view (Rhinoplasty Only) See diagram for more information.
What to expect.
Certain patients may require preoperative clearance. This is determined based on your age, history and physical, and consultation with Dr. Lesesne. In general, a complete blood count (CBC) and an EKG are usually required prior to surgery. Our office can coordinate these test with your primary care physician.
Day of Surgery
If you are having surgery in New York, your procedure will be performed in our 620 Park Avenue surgical facility. We encourage patients to travel with at least one family member or close friend who can assist in your postoperative care. It is a standard of care to have someone with you for at least 24 hours following your surgery. You will be given detailed post operative instructions to follow. Our office staff will review these instructions with you and your caregiver prior to being discharged. If a friend or family member cannot accompany you, we can provide overnight or daytime visits with a private duty, fully licensed nurse.
Traveling Home and Post Surgical Care
Depending on your procedure, plan on staying in New York for 2-5 days after your surgery. Dr. Lesesne will see you the following day to monitor your recovery. Sutures (if required) can be removed 7-10 days after your surgery. These can be removed by your primary care physician. Dr. Lesesne will continue to monitor your recovery by telephone and email. When leaving New York it is safe to fly, drive, or take a train back to your home. When you arrive home, it is important that you continue to follow all of Dr. Lesesne’s instructions. If your schedule permits, Dr. Lesesne would like to see you for a follow up visit at least 3 months after your procedure.
