Facelift Techniques

He does this by limiting the length of facelift incisions, and making an incision in front of the ear, commonly known as the “short scar technique.” While these procedures primarily address the jawline, a neck lift can also be performed, with an incision behind the ear. Over time, these incisions become well camouflaged in the hairline and natural creases.

The Analysis

A critical component of the analysis is the physical examination of your face. Unlike many other surgeons, we look at your “whole” face. We are interested in all planes of the face including bone, muscle, fascia (fibrous), lipous (fatty), and skin. We note the differences in aging from area to area and we carefully look at wrinkle length, depth, and visibility. Measurements may also be taken to check for asymmetry of the skin, muscle, or bone. Photographs before facelift surgery are also a crucial part of the examination process. We are interested in how your face ages, and we realize that we are seeing you at only one point in time. Therefore, we prefer to analyze previous photographs as well as current photographs. The more analytical information we have, the better.

After the analysis, we will consult with you to develop a treatment plan. This plan will include your goals, treatment options, potential side effects, the timing of the procedure, recovery, and location of treatment. The Facelift Procedure

Facelift surgery is performed in our completely equipped operating suite with a fully monitored recovery room staffed by registered nurses. Facelift surgery requires MAC anesthesia and takes approximately 1.5-2.5 hours.

Facelift Recovery

Prior to your surgery, our office will provide you with a written set of post-surgical instructions. We will review these instructions with you, and your caregiver, the day before your scheduled surgery. Based on your medical history and physical, Dr. Lesesne will prescribe medications for pain, swelling, and antibiotics to prevent infection. You will see Dr. Lesesne 1-2 days after surgery for your first follow-up visit.
