WHAT IS RHINOPLASTY?
Rhinoplasty, often referred to as a nose job or nose surgery, is a cosmetic procedure that improves the appearance of the nose. A rhinoplasty is used in reconstructive surgery cases to repair the nose after injury or accident. In some cases, a rhinoplasty is performed to facilitate better breathing. The desired goal of rhinoplasty is a nose that looks natural and blends harmoniously with your facial features. The new results can have a positive effect on the way you feel about yourself.
COMMON REASONS FOR UNDERGOING RHINOPLASTY
The majority of men or women who decide to undergo rhinoplasty surgery do so in order to reshape their naturally large or wide nose shapes. Other reasons for rhinoplasty nose surgery include: nose appears too large for your face, there is a bump on the nasal bridge when viewed in profile, your nose seems too wide when viewed from the front, the nasal tip droops or plunges, the tip is thickened or enlarged, your nostrils are excessively flared or wide, your nose is off-center or crooked.
RECONSTRUCTIVE RHINOPLASTY AND SEPTOPLASTY
Many patients undergo reconstructive nose surgery due to injury or trauma. If you have been injured in an accident and it has misshapen your nose, Dr. Lesesne can perform rhinoplasty surgery to restore your nose as close to its original shape as possible. If you experience breathing problems or have constructed nasal passages, rhinoplasty or septoplasty surgery is an excellent reconstructive solution to repair the nose and increases the ease of breathing.
I love my new nose., it looks natural and it fits my face. I can’t wait to have my eyes done.

RECOVERING FROM RHINOPLASTY
Some pain and discomfort are to be expected during the recovery process. Medication can be provided to make the recovery period more manageable. Pain should begin to subside after around three days. Bruising and swelling will occur and will likely increase over the next two days. Bruising should slowly subside over the next few days. Swelling can take some time to subside, but a majority of swelling should be gone after a few weeks. Some deep internal swelling may persist for months but should not significantly alter the appearance of your nose.
THE COST OF RHINOPLASTY IN NYC
The cost of an NYC rhinoplasty can vary on a number of factors. In cases where nose surgery is performed to clear nasal pathway obstructions and improve breathing, insurance may cover some of the surgical costs. Cosmetic rhinoplasty is not covered by insurance. Financing options are available for patients. Dr. Lesesne will meet with you in his New York City office to discuss his reccomendations and associated costs.
